日本の昔話・日本の伝説
今回は2冊、どちらも柳田國男さんの作品です。
柳田國男と言えば『遠野物語』があまりにも有名ですが、これらはそれ以外の地域の民話も含みます。
昔話の方は、『まんが日本昔話』に出てきそうな話を並べた感じ。
知っている話も結構ありましたが、収録された話の数が多いため、まるで知らないものもありました。
一つ一つの話は短いので、気楽に読んでもいいと思います。
伝説の方は、打って変わって民話への考察を含んだ一冊。
ある話が全国でどう伝わっているのかへの考察だけでなく、そこから関連する別の話に考察を進めていく形です。
こちらは、じっくりと腰をすえて読む事をおすすめします。

最近の小中学生に、果たして『まんが〜』は通じるのでしょうか。
ボブの弟さん（高校生）のクラスメートには、『ファイナルファンタジー6』が通じない子がいるらしいです。
ほんの5年前後の差でスーパーファミコンが通じないのですから、『まんが〜』もやはり通じないのでしょうか。
世代の差をひしひしと感じますが、まあせっかく日本人に生まれたのですから、日本の昔話くらい知っておいて損はないと思います。
